Week 4: Automatic Drawing

I did this project with Brian Sath. I had a blast doing this project. It was really weird because you could either go with the flow, or make the flow. When our flows would match, we would make very wide, circular shapes. When one of us would try to take more control than the other, we would end up with jagged edges because our hands couldn’t tell where the pastel would go. When one of us would try to take control over the other, we would also end up breaking the pastel. We broke the pastels multiple times, actually. I decided to take an up-close-and-personal picture of my poster because from farther away, it didn’t look as nice. You can tell where the sides of our hands would glide the paper because the pastels would be slightly blurred. It was a little tricky at first to get the hang of things, but there were so many laughs along the way. I was trying to make a flower (because it’s just a few circles for petals) but we ended up making a lovely dokalufatwenzer. What is that, you ask? Nothing. It is not real, which is why we chose to draw it. I wish we had more colors to use, but sadly we only had these 3 colors. I would suggest anyone who is undergoing some stress to do this activity because it definitely relieved some stress while I was studying for my midterms.
